The faith journey takes more than words. Some spend lifetimes seeking signs just to move along further in their faith journey. This can be especially true when we are tempted to revert or just altogether give up. Betty’s Baubles is our way for anyone of any age, or even religious background to engage in a regular reminder to “hang in there,” and like the symbol of a circle like a ring- it is an eternal reminder of divine presence and providence, which inside an enclosure with each unique piece is enclosed a mustard seed. The foundation for it comes from Matthew 17:20, and also Mark 11:23 AND LUKE 17:6. Matthew 17:20 states, “For I assure you: if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it w move.

As an anthropologist, LaShekia treasures using traditional beading techniques for some of her designs, as a way to pay homage to and maintain customs.

Each piece is created using premium findings. Details are provided of sourcing and metal or stone types for potential allergen information. All pieces are individually packaged in an elegant blue velvet pouch and shipped domestically using USPS priority mail

“Have a Little Faith” is more than a tagline. It has been a way of life for founder and designer, LaShekia Chatman. Throughout life’s challenges, she has used the mustard seed, through the branding of her childhood mentor, Sandy White to help push her through what often were perilous situations towards not only thriving but shining. My Aunt Betty, was quiet, reserved yet boldly unique. Her style was elegant, understated. Her demeanor was highly observant, and daringly herself within a family of social butterflies. But, if you spoke to her she’d open a world you hadn’t known was right in front of you. She taught me about textile quality, style and personal distinction.

Our Story
Betty’s Baubles began as a faith project. LaShekia began creating them as a hobby, giving them to loved ones who ended a small sign of faith during difficult times. Since 2009 she has been creating them for individuals in her circle, including a personalized hand written prayer or meditation with each bracelet just as a continuous hug.
Our Mission
Our mission is to spread the gospel or “good news” to all people of all faiths to not simply “endure,” bit to endure beautifully, uniquely, and courageously. Little by little, like each bead day by day
Our Process
Apart of the greater mission of our parent organization, Sheika’s is to celerate ad even study uniqueness, narratives and origins. Each handmade piece is uniquely handcrafted meditatively, Using a variety of vintage upcycled, natural and unique findings Material origins and backstory of the elements are included with each package. Each package also includes a brief meditation or prayer written by LaShekia that is meant as an additional gift of love to the wearer. These can be created for custom designs as needed.
Our Future
Our goal is to partner with institutions whose desire is to spread hope and love to those in need as well as those whose mission is to spread the gospel and humanity worldwide. In addition, through her work at Sheikas and Harvest Edcation, LaShekia aspires to include therapeutic workshops in crafting, global textile studies, and expand our team to include young local artisans
